Community supports Friends' mission

On August 31st, representatives from the Mississippi Constables Association presented Friends of Children's Hospital Board of Members with a check for $5,000. This donation, along with others like it from the community, are slowly making the dream of a new pediatric emergency room for the children of our state a reality.

"This is just something we wanted to do. My wife buys a MiracleHome ticket every year and we thought this would be a great thing to do for our state," said John Heggins, the Secretary/Treasurer for the Mississippi Constables Association.

"During our Board Meeting, we were discussing how to distribute the funds. Two of our Constables had children treated at Batson and talked about how well the children were treated and that everyone took such great care of them. It was a unanumous vote to give all the money to Friends of Children's Hosptial. We hope to be able to do this again next year," said Glen McKay, President of the Mississippi Constables Association.

"That is what we are there for, to help someone along the way," said McKay. Friends of Children's Hospital could not agree more.
