Posted February 4, 2008 Eli Pep Rally At Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children ![]() BankPlus employees joined hundreds of patients and staff at the Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children for a pre-Super Bowl pep rally to support New York Giants quarterback and BankPlus spokesperson, Eli Manning. Now a Super Bowl Champion and MVP, Eli Manning is no stranger to the patients at the children's hospital. Eli is working with BankPlus and Friends of Children's Hospital to raise $2.5 million over five years to build new clinics for the more than 75,000 Mississippi children who come to the hospital each year for outpatient services. When completed, the state-of-the-art facility will be named the Eli Manning Children's Clinics. At the pep rally in Eli's honor, BankPlus employees wore BankPlus "Manning" jerseys and passed out pom poms and mini footballs to children's hospital patients. The cheerleaders and pep band from St. Joseph's Catholic School led the crowd in cheers for Eli. BankPlus Regional President Gene Delcomyn spoke at the event, thanking the crowd for their continued support. Dr. Will Sorey, director of outpatient services for the children's hospital, outlined plans for the new facility, named in Eli's honor. Eli's effort to raise funds for the Eli Manning Children's Clinics at the Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children will continue with the 2008 fundraising event, An Evening with the Mannings, presented by BankPlus. The event is scheduled for June 21, 2008 at the Mississippi Telecommunications and Conference Center in Jackson.
