Posted March 11, 2008 Press Release - March 7, 2008 BankPlus Donates $15,000 to the Friends of Children's Hospital Miracle Home ![]() Brandon, Miss - Earlier today, BankPlus presented Friends of Children's Hospital (FOCH) with a $15,000 check for the bank’s sponsorship of the 2008 Batson Hospital for Children Miracle Home. The check was presented to Donna Windsor, Treasurer of FOCH, by Gene Delcomyn, Regional President for BankPlus, at a small reception at the 2008 Miracle Home site in Brandon's Speers Crossing subdivision. "BankPlus is delighted to be a sponsor of the Miracle Home, and its on-going support of the Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children", said Gene Delcomyn, Regional President of BankPlus. "Giving back to the communities we serve is, and will always be an important part of what we do at BankPlus, especially when we can do something to benefit Mississippi children." "Friends of Children's Hospital is thrilled to have BankPlus joining us this year as a sponsor of the Blair E. Batson Miracle Home," said Donna Windsor FOCH Treasurer. "Ticket sales have already started and we expect the 6,000 available tickets to be sold out before the day of the give away. We are excited and proud to be able to receive community support for our projects that all help the only children's hospital in Mississippi." The 2008 Miracle Home has special relevance for BankPlus, as the Speers Crossing subdivision was developed by one of the bank's customers, Robert W. Riddell. BankPlus supports the Friends of Children's Hospital on many levels. In April, BankPlus will have a fundraiser for FOCH at a Jackson car show, the BankPlus World of Show and Go. Later in June, BankPlus will put on the second in a series of five events titled "An Evening with the Mannings, Presented by BankPlus", which is part of Eli Manning's continued effort to raise $2.5 million for the Eli Manning Children's Clinics at the Blair E. The 2,604 square foot, three bedroom, three and a half bath home will feature a bonus room and many architectural details. The home giveaway date it set for August 9, 2008. Co-created in 2003 by FOCH and the Home Builder's Association of Jackson, the Miracle Home has quickly become Friends' largest annual fundraiser. Each year, the Miracle Home committee works with the Home Builder's Association of Jackson and a volunteer builder to construct a new home which is given away.
