Car TagIn 2005, the Mississippi State Tax Commission issued a specialty license plate which benefits the Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children. Each plate costs $31 above the normal cost of a regular license tag, with $24 going to the Friends of Children's Hospital. More than 2,000 tags have been purchased since they were launched. With the mandatory changing of the Mississippi license plate this year, we are urging everyone to switch their license plate to a children's hospital tag and help save a child's life. Everyone will have to visit the local Tax Assessor's office to switch their license plates for the new one, what better time to get a new license plate to help the children of our state? When you purchase any specialty tag at the Tax Assessor's office, it will be mailed to you in a few days. If you have visited your Tax Assessor's office and they do not have children's hospital tags available for purchase, please let us know so that we may correct that.
