Sanderson Farms Championship
October 23 - October 29
Friends of Children’s Hospital is proud to be the named beneficiary for the Sanderson Farms Championship, played annually at The Country Club of Jackson. One of only 45 PGA TOUR tournaments held each year, the Sanderson Farms Championship has been part of the PGA TOUR schedule since 1968 and is part of the FedEx Cup.
The 2016 tournament was a great success with beautiful weather and Cody Gribble took home the Reveille trophy. Century Club Charities, host organization for the Sanderson Farms Championship, will soon unveil the amount raised for Friends of Children’s Hospital. Thank you to Sanderson Farms, The Sanderson Farms Championship Tournament Staff, all the event Sponsors, contributors and volunteers for making the tournament a huge success and helping highlight Batson Children’s Hospital to so many! Please visit sandersonfarmschampionship.com for additional details regarding the tournament.
Interested in Volunteering? Volunteer spots include working inside the ropes, hospitality, media areas and assisting players and tournament staff. 2016 Tournament Highlights:
Past winner Peter Malnati and his wife visited Batson Children’s Hospital prior to the tournament and the patients enjoyed painting the chicken tee markers that sat at each tee during tournament play. Patients from children’s hospital also enjoyed a craft time with The PGA Wives Association and were joined by several Saintsations Cheerleaders and Gumbo the Mascot from The New Orleans Saints! All had a great time painting ceiling tiles that were installed in children’s hospital as well as some other crafts and fun games. At every step, Mr. Joe Sanderson and the Sanderson Farms Championship team set out to highlight Friends of Children’s Hospital and Batson Children’s Hospital in all they did and we certainly appreciate their continued support of our state’s only children’s hospital!
